Marvin Zhang
Computer Science and Mathematics student at Purdue. I build full-stack products and research human motion generation.
Work
-
Software Engineering Intern, Bamboo Cloud
Jul–Aug 2026 Built a cluster-monitoring dashboard for training-task queues and per-node CPU load, and added an unsupervised anomaly detector (Connectivity-Based Outlier Factor via PyOD) to the model pipeline. -
Undergraduate Researcher, IDEAs Lab
Mar 2026–now Researching multi-human, multi-object interaction generation conditioned on scene, trajectory and text, with a VQ-VAE and Transformer motion-generation pipeline in PyTorch.
Projects
-
ClubRecruiter
Sep 2026–now A recruiting and applicant-tracking app for student clubs, used by 6 clubs with 2,000+ applicants tracked. Halved serverless calls per request. Next.js, Postgres, Vercel. -
PyroTech
Sep 2026–now A browser-based wildfire response simulator for real cities, where seven AI agents plan fire spread, evacuations and resource deployment on a live map, with replayable snapshots. -
ReDub
Feb–Mar 2026 Video dubbing with voice cloning and lip sync, built in 36 hours at a UIUC hackathon. A five-stage Whisper, LLaMA, XTTS and MuseTalk pipeline on Modal cut cost from $0.73 to $0.23 per minute. -
Ember
Feb 2026 A Flask app for sharing supplies during disaster relief, with semantic search, voice input, and offline support as a Progressive Web App.
Involvement
-
Full-Stack Developer, Purdue ACM SIGAPP
Feb 2026–now Building a grant application and review platform with Purdue Graduate Student Government; audited and documented the FastAPI backend. -
Mentor, ML@Purdue Accelerator Program
Sep 2026–now Leading a team of developers building a VQ-VAE and Transformer architecture for human motion generation.
Hobbies
-
Running
I run the annual Purdue Half Marathon and Princeton Turkey Trot back at home -
Basketball
I play IM at Purdue and I love watching NBA
